During our visit to Batam, Rachel & Sara Grace stopped by our ministry's elementary school, El Shaddai. The students were thrilled to see them!

Praise report
We have good news to report. Our student in Jakarta that had been hospitalized with Dengue fever has been released and is doing much better! Thank you for your prayers.
| New Church Building
Batam
The island of Batam is situated just over 10 miles off the southern coast of Singapore. There are just over 1 million inhabitants. It is an island that has experienced rapid industrial growth over the last 30 years. Thanks to the Eades family we have just recently purchased land to build a new church that can house a pastor and seat approximately 100+ members. The cost of the land and building is $5,000. If you would like to sponsor a church in Batam please send your contribution to the address below and earmark it, "Batam Land/Church #27515." Thank you.

A visit to our former city
It was a wonderful blessing to return to Perth for a few days of R&R. It has been over four years since we moved away from Perth and this was our first time back. We revisited many places in the area that brought back many memories of our 3 years of being based in Perth from 2001-2004.
| The Mosque
(Place of Islamic worship)
Over 85% of Indonesia's people worship Allah in a mosque similiar to the one pictured here in Banda Aceh. The religion of Islam is also widely practised throughout Southeast Asia. Having worked in this region for over 8 years now we are very familiar with Islamic customs and practices.
| Singapore Living Report: 10th most expensive city
(Rachel & Sara Grace a few years ago in the central Singapore business district.) A new survey out by the Economist Intelligence Unit ranks Singapore as the world's 10th most expensive city in the world to live in. In spite of this news we are convinced that the Lord has placed us in Singapore for such a time as this. After over four years living here our family has adjusted wonderfully and we anticipate the years ahead with great expectancy. Please keep our financial ministry needs in prayer. The Lord is able to provide for all our needs!
| Beth Salley
Happy New Year 2009!
Our family sends to you our best wishes and prayers for you and your family for a great and fruitful 2009! We are expecting this year to be our best yet. We are also anticipating the biggest blessings to flow into our lives. Beth set the stage for the year as she spoke last Sunday. She proclaimed to the people that this is the year that we will hear the heartbeat of God and that we will commit to knowing Him in higher and more intimate ways. Join us in knowing Him and making Him known in all the world in 2009!!
| Life Harvest Church Camp
What a pleasure and honor for our family to be invited to participate at the Life Harvest Church's annual church camp. This year the camp was held in Port Dickson, on the shores of the Malacca Straits. The Life Harvest Church is one of our flagship churches in Malaysia located in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. Pastor Raymond Yap pioneered this fellowship over 16 years ago. Our relationship with Pastor Raymond and his people goes back almost five years.
| Fairley Brown
We have received news that Fairley Brown, from Cape Town, South Africa, is suffering with pulmonary tuberculosis. All we know is that she needs to receive medical attention and medicines for at least 6 months. We have been planning to have Fairley move back to Southeast Asia to teach at our training centers. Please pray for her complete healing so she can make her way back to this ministry. Thank you. If you would like to support Fairley please send it to the below address and earmark your check, "Fairley Brown #27311."
| Camp Speaker
It was Beth's turn to do the speaking at this camp. The theme was "My sheep hear My voice." Beth proceeded to take the first three sessions of the camp to share and minister on how we can hear from God. She shared practical ways on how we can do this and many of the people gave testimony on how they were blessed by Beth's teaching. Tim did get the opportunity to speak at the last session to wrap up the camp.
| New ministry opportunities in Malaysia
There are numerous ministry opportunities arising before us among the Myanmar refugee population within Malaysia. Thousands of these people that have fled the military dictatorship of Myanmar (formerly called Burma) are now living in Malaysia hoping for a better life. (Link to Article) Pictured above is Pastor May Kow who has started an elementary school for Myanmar refugees children at Life Harvest Church. Another one of our churches reaches out to these people in various ministries as well. We need more workers to help in this ministry. Will you consider investing in more ministers for the Myanmar ministry in Malaysia? We want to raise at least $300/month in order to help these churches support more workers. Please send your financial support for this critical ministry to the address below and earmark your check, "Malaysia workers - #13999." Thank you very much. Please pray for these Myanmar refugees
| Leadership equipping in India
Hyderabad is India's 4th largest metro region with over 8 million people. It is the capital of Andhra Pradesh state with over 70 million people. From October 5-10, Tim had the opportunity to teach at one of our India IPHC leadership schools in Hyderabad. Over twenty leaders will be in Hyderabad for this 40 day session. Tim had the privilege to be the first speaker at the school this time around. Some of these leaders were on hand when Tim was last in India to teach in 2002. Our hearts are burdened to see these and other of our Indian leaders be fully equipped to reach their harvest fields. The challenges are great - please pray for them. Thank you.
| Hindu celebrations
The Hindu festival, Dussehra, was celebrated during the time of Tim's visit to Hyderabad. People painted their faces and danced in the streets as they worshipped the goddess Durga Puja. Hinduism is a polytheistic religion and it's adherents are dominate all throughout India. Recently, there has been an outbreak of persecution against Christians in some of India's religiously sensitive areas. Please pray for the persecuted church in India.
| Look who's in India
That's right, Ronald McDonald now has his restaurants in India. Unfortunately, he doesn't offer his Big Mac due to Hindu religious restrictions!
| Medan Mission Students
Having the opportunity to speak into the lives of future influencial leaders like these pictured above is one of the most satisfying aspect of our ministry. In the eyes of the world these young people are powerless and poor. But in the Creator's vision they are full of potential and key players in bringing salt and light to the peoples of Indonesia. These students will graduate in November and will then be sent out to reach the unreached of Sumatera Island, one of the largest of Indonesia with tens of millions of inhabitants that are waiting to hear the Good News! Please pray for them.

Training World Harvesters
"Hearing the Voice of God," was our topic for our training sessions during our ministry time in Batam. What a great opportunity we had to exhort and encourage the students. The Word will accomplish its work!

| Thanks to the Cottrell Family
We want to say a great big THANK YOU to our dear friends Tim & Nerida, Zach, Sophie, Lucy & Eli (The Cottrell Family) for sponsoring our family vacation to Perth, Australia for 10 great days!! They hosted us for many days in their house and also arranged for us to stay at a beach house for three days! It was a great time of refreshment and relaxation. It was our family's first real vacation in almost three years. Thank you Cottrell's and may the Lord richly bless you for your generousity in giving.

Sara Grace turns 13 in Perth!
Sara Grace turned 13 while on our trip to Perth on February 28. She is now a teenager! We celebrated at her former favorite fish & chips place at Hillary's beach.
| Pray for Bible school students - Outbreak of Dengue fever in Jakarta
We have just received a report from our mission school principal in Jakarta, Nikson (pictured with Tim), that one of the students has been admitted to hospital and has dengue fever symptons. Nikson has been ill himself over the last few days. Please pray for their complete healing and for financial provision for the hospital stay.
We are thankful for the opportunity to share the Gospel in Southeast Asia. We are blessed with many friends that faithfully pray for us and support us.
| Myanmar refugee children.
In the Kuala Lumpur region of Malaysia we are operating two schools for Myanmar refugee children. We are in need of financial support to help these schools continue and meet the growing needs of the students. Currently, we have nearly 100 students in both schools. Please consider sponsoring this work on a monthly basis. Please send your donations to the address below and earmark your support, "Malaysia Workers - #18399." Thank you.
| Malaysia Fellowship
Since our last visit to this fellowship in Malaysia in late 2007 there has been a three-fold increase in attendance. As the Myanmar refugee population in Malaysia continues to grow the opportunity to touch these precious and fragile lives increases. The horror stories we hear of life in Myanmar is heartrending. Almost equally horrible is how these refugees are treated in Malaysia. In 2009, we recommit ourselves to help these good people as they seek to make a life for themselves in Malaysia.
| What a story!
Mr. K's faith experience
We are continually amazed at the stories we hear from believers that have been persecuted for their faith. I met "Mr. K." last month and his trials from family and community members are unbelievable. He has been beat up, shot in the leg, imprisoned and much more. He has escaped his homeland and is relatively free in his new country.
| The new look Rachel
November 4 was a day to remember for Rachel. For this is the day she had her braces removed!! The above photo was taken immediately after the eventful moment of removal.

| Medan Training Center
Pictured above is our ministry training center located in Medan. Medan is Indonesia's third most populous city. The center is strategically located on one of the city's main streets. The lease for this building is due and we still need $2500 to secure the facility for another 2 years. If you would like to help us with this please send your gift to the below address and earmark your check, "28006-Southeast Asia Training Centers." Thank you.
